Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) is an affiliation to the Ministry of Information and Communication, founded on 28th April 2000, and carries out the functions of managing, allocating, supervising and promoting the use of Internet domain name, address, autonomous system number in Vietnam (collectively called as “Internet resources”); providing Internet-related guidance, statistics on Internet; joining international activities on Internet.

VNNIC's main tasks and powers :

·         Planning, managing and allocating Internet address (IP) and ASN at national level.

·         Managing and allocating domain name for Internet-related activities at national level including second level domain name under .VN and third level domain names under generic second level domain name.

·         Managing and operating VNIX (Vietnam National Internet eXchange).
