Activities and Events

  • On the ocassion of Viet Nam IPv6 Day 2018, VNNIC, the Standing Committee for Viet Nam IPv6 Task Force (VNIPv6TF) held a series of conferences and workshops, with the aim to promote IPv6 deployment in 4G LTE, content services and government agencies’ networks.

  • With the aim to continuously increase the IPv6 application development in Viet Nam, on January 16th 2018, Viet Nam IPv6 Task Force (VNIPv6TF) had hold the meeting to summarize IPv6 deployment result in 2017 and make a plan for 2018. The meeting, moderated by Mr. Pham Hong Hai, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Information and Communications, was well-attended by members of the VNIPv6TF, the representatives of ICT authorities, ISPs, “.VN” Registrars and ones of press media in Ha Noi. 

  • At the beginning of 2018, a new logo for .VN was introduced in order to promote the national domain name with such growing presence.

    The new iconic ".VN" logo is designed with the symbol of a developing elliptic orbit which is derived by the "big dot"- a characteristic of domain name. The orbit is linked back to the softly tapered V-tail to make it look like a check mark.

  • Following from the National IPv6 Action Plan in 2017, with the aim to increase the IPv6 application development in Viet Nam and continuously encourage ISPs to provide IPv6 services to their customers, Viet Nam IPv6 Task Force (VNIPv6TF) worked with major local ISPs including Viettel, VNPT and FPT Online. on 6th December 2017, Mr. Pham Hong Hai, Minister of Information and Communications had visited and engaged with Viettel.

  • The team of Viet Nam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) had a bilateral meeting with the team of Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) at VNNIC’s head office in Hanoi, Viet Nam from 29th  to 30th November, 2017. The representatives of Department of Central posts and Telecommunications (CPT), Authority of Information Technology Application  (AITA) and 2 major local ISPs in Viet Nam (FPT and VNPT) also participated in the session of IPv6 deployment.

  • To commemorate for the 20th anniversary of the Internet in Viet Nam with great achievements, Viet Nam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) co-organized with Viet Nam Internet Association (VIA) to hold Viet Nam Internet Day 2017 conference on 22nd November, 2017 at JW Marriott Hotel, Ha Noi. VNNIC contributed to this event in hosting a session on “Digital Resources – Opportunities and Challenges”.

  • On the occasion of “Internet Day 2017” on 22nd November 2017, Viet Nam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) officially announced the publication of the Report on Viet Nam Internet Resources 2017. This publication also commemorates the 20th anniversary of the Internet in Viet Nam with significant increase in new registrations of “.VN” domain names, IP addresses, Autonomous System Numbers (ASN), and bandwidth & traffic of Viet Nam national Internet Exchange (VNIX).

  • On the occasion of APEC Economic Leader’s Week, the Ministry of Information and Communications officially released Vietnam’s APEC postage stamps 2017 on November 6th 2017. Presented in this special postage printing, Viet Nam ccTLD (country code top-level domain) with message “.VN enhances Vietnamese brands” expresses a desire to develop and integrate into a technological era.

  • After the success of the 1st VNIX-NOG Conference in 2016, Viet Nam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) continued to hold the 2nd VNIX-NOG event on 25th August 2017 at Saigon Prince Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City, with the aim to connect VNIX members, update each other on their works and promote Internet development in Viet Nam.

  • On May 3, 2017, Vietnam Internet Network Center (VNNIC) and ICANN APAC Hub hosted the “Media briefing on IDN” conference at the office of Ministry of Information and Communications. The conference was co-chaired by Mr. Tran Minh Tan - Director General of VNNIC, and Mr. Jia Rong Low - Managing Director of ICANN APAC Hub, and attended by representatives of ICANN AND VNNIC, as well as more than 30 representatives from local press media and .VN registrars.
