On 5th May 2013, in Ho Chi Minh City, Asian Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) had a trip to and officially worked with Vietnam Internet Network Information Centre (VNNIC) about management of IP address, especially corporating to push the development of IPv6.
Ngày 05/05/2013, tại TP. Hồ Chí Minh, Trung tâm thông tin mạng Châu Á Thái Bình Dương (APNIC) đã có chuyến thăm và làm việc chính thức với Trung tâm Internet Việt Nam (VNNIC) về công tác quản lý địa chỉ IP, đặc biệt là việc hợp tác thúc đẩy phát triển IPv6.
Để đáp ứng nhu cầu, thúc đẩy việc sử dụng thế hệ địa chỉ mới IPv6 tại Việt Nam cũng như thực hiện theo lộ trình triển khai IPv6 quốc gia, VNNIC đã chính thức hỗ trợ địa chỉ IPv6 cho hệ thống VNIX sử dụng công nghệ dualstack.
Ngày 08/04/2013, Viettel đã tăng dung lượng kết nối VNIX tại Hà Nội từ 2 cổng 1Gbps thành 1 cổng 10Gbps. Như vậy tính đến thời điểm này dung lượng kết nối của Viettel - VNIX như sau:
VNIX HN: 10 Gbps
VNIX HCM: 20 Gbps
VNIX ĐN: 2 Gbps
Ngày 04/04/2013, VDC đã nâng dung lượng kết nối VNIX tại HCM. Tính đến thời điểm này dung lượng kết nối của VDC - VNIX như sau:
VNIX HN: 10Gbps
VNIX HCM: 20Gbps
Nhằm đảm bảo an toàn cho hệ thống VNIX nói chung và đặc biệt là cho các Peering eBGP giữa RS VNIX và Router ISP, VNNIC đã triển khai RS2 (Router Server dự phòng cho RS1) vào ngày 25/03/2013.
Đối với việc dự phòng Peering eBGP, ngoài việc thiết lập kết nối peering eBGP với RS1, các ISP nên thiết lập dự phòng kết nối peering eBGP với RS2 (nhằm tăng cường khả năng dự phòng kết nối eBGP giữa Router của ISP kết nối và RS VNIX).
