VNNIC holds groundbreaking ceremony for the new building in Tan Thuan EPZ – HCM city (Sep 14th 2012)

In the morning of Sep 14th 2012, Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) held the groundbreaking ceremony of the new building located at Lot U 15 B-17 A, Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. The ceremony was attended with the presence of Deputy Minister of Information and Communications - Nguyen Thanh Hung; Director General, Head of the MIC Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City - Nguyen Dinh Tao; VNNIC Director General – Hoang Minh Cuong; Deputy Head of the Export Processing Zone Management industrial and Ho Chi Minh City - Lam Van Tiep; CEO Tan Thuan Co., Ltd - Mr. Young Yun Ti and representatives from the functional unit under the MIC, local government agencies, mass media agencies…

Director General of VNNIC Hoang Minh Cuong said that the project would be built on an area of ​​3.500m2 located within the Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone. Construction area: 600 m2, 1,735 m2 floor area of ​​group B, with three floors. The building was expected to be brought into operation by the end of 2013.

Said Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Hung at the ceremony, as of July 2012 there were over 31 million Internet users (about 35% of the population), more than 218,000 active domain names (dot VN) and 816,000 Vietnamese domain names registered. The building would be one of the important parts in the master plan for VNNIC infrastructure development in stage 2011 - 2015 approved by the Minister of Information and Communications. He also requested VNNIC to have schedule, quality assurance, safety in compliance with the constructing provisions of the State; HCM City, the Management Board of Export Processing and Industrial and Tan Thuan Co., Ltd.
