With the aim to firm up the long term ongoing relationship, Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) and Coordination Center of Top Level Domain .RU (CC for TLD .RU) came to an agreement on signing a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of ccTLD management for the next period of 3 years (2019-2022). The MoU signing ceremony took place on 24 August 2019 in Nha Trang city, Viet Nam.

With the aim to share information and experiences in Internet resources management and development, Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) and Korea Internet and Security Agency (KISA) held a bilateral meeting on August 2019. On this occasion, VNNIC signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KISA to expand the depth and breadth of coordination in Internet resources management in the era of Industrial 4.0. The signing ceremony was on 21 August 2019 at VNNIC’s office in Hanoi city.

According to six-month task report from Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC), ICT sector will be a fundamental element of digital transformation, help to improve the development of Internet in Viet Nam and national ranking in the world. One of most significant achievements from the report is Viet Nam has global ranking of the fifth in IPv6 deployment with the adoption rate of 38,98%.

VNIX-NOG 2019 conference will take place on 23 August 2019 in Nha Trang City, Viet Nam with the aim to discuss contents along the theme of Peering & DNS. This year, there will be a pre-conference workshop on RPKI on 22 August 2019.

On 25 Jun 2019, MEGAZONE Corp. was officially recognized by Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) as a “.VN” Accredited Registrar. From now on, individuals and organizations can register and use “.VN” domain names via MEGAZONE at www.hosting.kr.

This year marks the eleventh year of IPv6 deployment journey in Viet Nam and the final year of Viet Nam National IPv6 Action Plan – a key multi-stakeholder policy that has driven IPv6 capability to more than 34%. In commemoration of Viet Nam IPv6 Day 2019, Vietnam Network Information Center (VNNIC), the Standing Committee for Viet Nam IPv6 Task Force (VNIPv6TF) held a series of conference and workshops to promote widespread deployment of IPv6 in online services and networks of government agencies. As part of the ongoing events, the IPv6 Services and Applications Launching Ceremony was held on May 6th 2019 with the participation of more than 260 attendees from major Internet service providers, government agencies and online service providers in Viet Nam.

On 5th January, 2019, VNNIC joint with the Authority of Radio Frequency Management, Authority of Central Posts and Telecommunications and Authority of Telecommunications to hold an annual general meeting in order to summarize achievements in Internet management in 2018 and announce the strategic plan for the year 2019. 2018 saw a significant increase in IPv6 penetration rate in Viet Nam, bringing Viet Nam to the 13th place ranked by IPv6 global adoption rate. The highlight of year 2018 was also the improvement of “.VN” data management with the introduction of online registration system.

With the aim to promote RPKI deployment for securing the Internet routing infrastructures in Viet Nam, Viet Nam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) had collaborated with Japan Network Information Center (JPNIC) to hold a RPKI seminar for Internet service providers (ISPs) and VNNIC’s IP members in Hanoi city on 12th December, 2018.

On the occasion of Internet Day 2018 (5th December, 2018), Viet Nam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) published the Report on Viet Nam Internet Resources 2018. This report was introduced for the first time in 2012 and has since become an annual publication which provided Internet statistics, some main achievements and growth trend of Internet resources in Viet Nam.

In November 2018, two meeting were jointly held by Viet Nam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) and Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) in order to discuss about issues of Internet resources management under the impacts of Industry 4.0. After the meetings, both VNNIC and KISA expressed their desire to enhance their coordination and expand the scope of MoU in the future.
